Corrections Policy

countypropertytaxes.us/ aims to provide accurate, practical, human-reviewed property tax information. If content is wrong, outdated, unclear, or missing an important official-source warning, we want to know so we can review and improve it.

What We Correct

  • Broken links to official county or government websites.
  • Changed office names, department roles, addresses, phone numbers, or portal locations.
  • Outdated deadline language, payment method information, or fee cautions.
  • Confusing instructions that could send a user to the wrong office.
  • Missing disclaimers where official verification is required.
  • Typographical errors, formatting problems, or accessibility issues.

What We Cannot Correct

We cannot change official county records, tax bills, assessment values, ownership records, mailing addresses, exemption decisions, appeal outcomes, penalty balances, payment postings, or legal notices. Those must be handled directly with the appropriate official office.

How to Request a Correction

Send the page URL: Include the exact countypropertytaxes.us/ page where you found the issue.
Describe the problem: Tell us whether the issue is a broken link, outdated office detail, unclear instruction, incorrect statement, or missing warning.
Provide an official source: If possible, include the official county, state, tax collector, treasurer, assessor, or appraisal district page that supports the correction.
Avoid private details: Do not send sensitive account information, tax IDs, bank information, passwords, or private documents.

How We Review Correction Requests

Correction requests are manually reviewed. We compare the reported issue with official sources where possible. If the correction is confirmed, we may update the article, replace a link, add a caution, clarify office roles, rewrite a section, or remove outdated details. If a report cannot be verified, we may still adjust wording to make the page safer and clearer.

Some corrections may take longer if official sources conflict, if the county has multiple departments handling similar tasks, or if a payment portal appears to be operated by a third-party processor linked from the official site.

Correction Transparency

When a correction materially affects user safety or practical action, we may revise the page language, add an updated note, or make the instruction more cautious. Smaller edits, such as spelling or formatting changes, may be fixed without a visible correction note.

Contact for Corrections

Official Records Reminder

If your property tax account, bill, exemption, address, ownership record, or assessment value is wrong, contact the official county office. Our correction policy applies only to content published on countypropertytaxes.us/.
